HoboMaster Even if your in decent shape, snowboarding uses specific muscles, and if you don't snowboard often those muscles don't get used that much. Bicycling helps because it targets those thighs, especially if you do stand-up hill climbs. It depends on the person too, but along with reducing the stance width, try a less angular stance. Having a 16' duck both ways kinda pushes both feet out. Try something like 15/-12 or 15/-9 or 12/-9, and see how that feels.

I'm not saying that stance width is necessarily causing your problem but it is a good place to start. A lot of different aches and pains can be caused by poor adjustment of any of your gear. Boots too tight, straps of your bindings in the wrong position or too tight, high back in the wrong position (especially when it's too far forward), or stance width/angle can all cause all sorts of weird problems. Since you said your having problems with your upper legs boots or bindings are most likely not the problem but rather a stance issue is the most likely culprit. Of course, it can be that you aren't used to working those particular muscles and it is actually a matter of being out of shape.

c143fair thanks acrophile, i was kinda gettin beat up there for a minute. i will try shortening my stance a little bit and go from there. thanks everybody

There are lot of less active people in worse shape than this guy who don't get the same problem. If it was just a case of him not being in shape he would be fatigued quickly and ache in more than that one specific area.

AcroPhile I had a a friend who was having a lot of the same problems you're describing. Turns out, his stance was WAY too wide.

c143fair i am pretty active. paintball, snowboarding, skibiking, softball,,, i do stretch pretty good before and during the day and i always eat a bannana in the morning and with lunch.. could the board be to big and i am having to overpower the board to much

Donutz Although it might be caused by being out of shape, it might also be caused by crouching too much in your riding stance. Standing up straight is bad, mkay? But crouching too low is also bad, mkay?

If you have someone with you on the slopes, have them look at you as you ride and then have them tell you how you compare to some random person. That'll at least give you something to work from.
