Zak also, if you're asking for one of two things as a gift... choose the more expensive one.

Not to mention there's those of us who enjoy a vid more if it's being done by someone at about our own level. I learn more from watching some guy do a 270 to snow-angel than from watching BA hit another 100-footer, and yawn on the way down.

Unowned dont get me wrong, the quality of the vids is awesome, and the mount options availble allow for vids to be taken in ways normal cameras cant. As a sports filming device, there's no equal. Not to mention its relatively cheap for what it does.

the camera itself cant zoom, mode switching isn't exactly intuitive nor user-friendly, there's no HUD/LCD screen, fisheye lens, can't film jack at night...list goes on, so ya, i don't think of it highly as a camera. Pretty sure other companies will catch on and notice the lack of these things on the gopro and improve on them.

killclimbz Saying a Go Pro is second rate is kind of asinine, considering that half of the pros use them and so do a ton of filmers.

I have to agree that NC is wasting his time with a go pro if he can barely ride. You at least need to cover something interesting. Otherwise it's just another lame video of people riding groomers. Yawn...

cuz its fun? filming memories? filming other ppl fall on their asses, or recording the countless FAIL moments on the chair lift? Perhaps analyzing your own or someone else's riding?

i dont know about anyone else, but i never bought it with the intention of filming The Art of Flight II

The Gopro is a second rate camera, it doesnt even have a viewfinder. It's only particularly good when it comes to shooting stuff on the snow because its water/shock proof.
