Blaze182 Not to bump, but no point wasting time making another thread.

Ended up buying:

Boots: Ride Deuce Boots (Black)
Bindings: K2 Formula Bindings (Red & White)
Board: Capita NAS 155 Board (Red Front, White Back).

Very happy, thanks for all the advice here =]

Blaze182 Will do!! Looking at the pickle board, but will decide on the night - next Tuesday evening they have a VIP night, try get in then if you need anything, apparently prices will be dumped pretty nice =]

cjcameron11 Haha mate I'm prolly going up in a week or so, depends on when it snows next. have a look into the carbon credit or riders choice if u want to go with gnu, and if you buy everything from there they should drop the price a bit as I said chat to nick or frosty

Blaze182 I ended up canceling the board as well - they couldn't ship it in time for when I want it by.

SO, looks like I'll be buying everything locally =] From Ballystix, Cameron, haha! Whens your next mountain visit??

cjcameron11 i think thats a great idea, look into a reputable binding company

Blaze182 Well I've already brought the Board and I brought their bindings also. The board seems to get good reviews in the few I can find.

I'm a little dubious on the Bindings as tere was no real info on how much flex they offered... Will cancel the bindings now, but I like the board =]

Nivek I would generally steer away from companies many people haven't heard of without trying it out first. No hate for small companies, but most of them are shitty cookie cutter shapes with a premium price tag cause they're "local" or some bullshit.

Do not get their bindings. I don't trust anyone that can't get actual shots of their gear on their own website. A CAD image is not enough. Stick with established companies for bindings and boots.

I would highly recommend you look more into Arbor, K2, Bataleon, and Nitro for the type of riding your into. Wasteland, Raygun, Goliath, or Team Gullwing respectively. And bindings try Flow NXT-ATSE's, Raiden Phantoms, Salomon Chiefs, Ride Capo's, Rome Targa's, or Flux SF45's.

Blaze182 One quick, probably stupid question - do Imperium make good snowboards?

EDIT: After talking with a couple of friends I've opted for an Imperium board/binding combo =D Next is boots.. but they shouldn't be as picky XD

davidj Like others on this thread have said... mid-wide is good enough. I have a mid-wide board (26.0 cm WW) with US11 boots. With a +15/-15 duck stance I have just the right overhang. Any less and it'll be more effort steering the board. Have you tried the Rossignol Angus? Check out the reviews for the Wasteland, Raptor and Angus here:

Blaze182 Thats good to know - opens up a lot more options!!

Ideally I'd like a board which lets me ride either direction - True twin I think its called? (Throwing that term out there cause its on a few sites)... I have no preference to how I ride, I'll go right or left foot forward.

Its a toss up over these two boards =D
