BurtonAvenger Rider>board live by this!

First off.. I have been riding for quite some time and prefer a bit longer boards than most people..

ok.. so I tried the "one board quiver/quiver killer" with a Lib Skate Banana in a 159.

I missed the design/flex/ride of a freeride board in pow when I traveled BUT wanted the slightly softer twin flex of a centered-stance park board for when I am just riding around home man-made/groomers/park.

So I switched back to a 2 board quiver.

162 Lib Rice Pointy for pow/freeride
157 Bataleon Riot for groom/park

the Skate Banana did its job well as a do-it-all board.. I guess I just missed certain characteristics of each style/type of board. I just swap my main bindings between my boards so they both fit in a single-board bag without any issues.

I am about 5'8 160 lbs. I know I am Supposed to be riding a 153 or 154 Board.

I learned on a 158 Head thats what I have been riding for about 2 years now.

I like mostly riding the mountain hitting fresh powder getting out of bounds to get it if neccesary hitting natural jumps and looking to try some tricks this winter. But I will stay out of the terrain park.

Now the person I bought my board from said I should go with a 161 T-rice banna tech c2 powered board. But also said they ride bigger than they are.

So I bought the 161 and it is up to the bridge of my nose.

I am worried that the since the board rides bigger than they are and it is already bigger than I have ridden before it will be to big. But at the same time its only at the bridge of my nose.

I guess I would like some other opinions.

Thanks everyone!!
i weigh 175 and ride the t rice 157. but i tend to like to go in the park a lot too along with riding the whole mountain and pow. so in your case, since you wont go in the park, you will be okay on the 161, though it is for sure at the big end of your range. if you ever consider going in the park however, you might want to consider a 157

bobthegood The difference in length is less than 1.2 inches, a finger tip. In width that's a big deal, in length not so much. The trice is a true twin?? And I believe HEAD boards have a 1/2 inch or so setback?? Each will affect your ride a bit. I've got wrathfuldeity by 2 inches and 10", and last year rode a 126 mini teaching kids, a 159, all the way up to a 164 in the pow. Each time you ride something different, you need a lap or two to dial in.
All that said, IMHO the board should be fine. But, if you're really second guessing and have questions on your investment, just go switch it out before you beat it up. Demo 'em all, and then buy.

Derosnops Thanks....Yeah I been debating all yesterday to switch it for a 157...but baker gets so much snow and I don't ride the groomed very much..I like hitting off trail or outta bounds.....

wrathfuldeity ya can't ride a twig in poo and you don't want a tree on the concrete

that t-rice c2 was tested and made for the hill...u'll learn to manage it just fine.

The bigger board will just want to take off faster, you'll have to be riding further ahead of it and be on the nose a bit more...so just anticipate being more aggressive with it...otherwise it will take you for a ride til you get used to it.

Derosnops Yeah wrathful ill be out at baker with you! haha...Whats your weight ratio to board right now?
11-15-2011 12:15 PM
wrathfuldeity Depends on where and what you ride, how aggressive and etc. ...how deep. It sounds a tad big but out here we tend to go longer than most cause of what we have to put up with.
