onji Hey WaltzingMatera.

There's definitely enough snow to be riding around at the resorts in Hokkaido now. Most of them, if not all, are open. I went riding at Teine last Sat, and am going again tomorrow.

At Teine on Sat there was enough to open about 75% of the resort. A couple of lifts were closed, and the park hasn't been made yet. The snow, however, is deep enough, with little powder runs if you duck the ropes.

If you want to see how much snowfall we've been getting check out my BC trip report for Daisetsuzan and the photos will show you how deep the back country has been getting!

I'd be very surprised if you couldn't go riding at any of the major resorts this weekend.

WaltzingMatera I was in Hokkaido last week for a business trip. It was snowing at the airport but driving around to my location I didn't see too much snow around. I'm a bit nervous as I am going back for a snowboarding trip first week of Jan. I am very interested in hearing any news from this 'board Japan' pose we've created on this forum.

I've heard that practically no snow throughout Europe but some in North America. It looks like mother nature has not woken much yet.

onji Alrighty, I've changed the size to something a bit more manageable

dreampow I agree lets keep it up, I'll try to do a trip report each time I go out and I often take some video as well as photos.

we don't get dumps like you do in Hokkaido but we usually get plenty of powder down here too.

To be honest I don't bother to make the 4 hour drive unless I know I will be riding powder.

The thing thats interesting at Nozawa is the terrain. Lots of variation some good steeps and loads of tree runs.

I also love the vibe of the village and the whole area.

Onji you gotta change the size and upload the pictures again on this thread dude!

onji Good to see some other guys representing Japan. Let's try and do this regularly eh?

I'll post some pics of my trip to Daisetsuzan over the weekend, when I get a spare moment.

@Dreampow. Good to hear you guys are getting a dump! We a non-stop dump over the weekend. Sooooper fresh and beyond armpit deep. Falling was an issue

pjstyles use imgur with the largethumbnail size option

here are some pics of yesterday's trip.

The snow depth is still too low. I hit a bunch of rocks many times and gouged the base of my board. At least the board I was using is a used 5 year old board.

killclimbz Get flickr or photobucket account (or similar service) and download your pictures to it. Most of them offer img coded links that you just copy and paste into the thread and your pic will appear.
