No worries... I hope to be back in Jan (work allowing). Stevens was good today... well any day riding instead of working is a good day.
I was skeptical driving up through the rain, but right around 3000 ft. elevation it turned to snow. It was quite windy, especially up on top of Tye Mill, but the conditions were good right up until late afternoon, when the combination of scraped off surface, flat light, and icy patches took some of the fun out. The back side was closed
I do like the $12 off weekday lift tix for REI members... Sweet!

Hopefully next time I'll see some PNW dumping.

|NWBoarder||Snoqulamie looked about the same on Sunday, except there was rain at the base, and snow on top. Baker was probably the better choice there. Have fun at Stevens! It's a good resort.|

Well it didn't rain on Sunday at Baker, but *DAMN* it was totally socked in at times. Because I didn't know my way around and the signage is limited (=non-existent), I spent most of the day lapping chair 8 and 5 around White Salmon lodge. Fun hill. There was ~1-2" of fresh over dense packed base. Reminded me of spring snow back east; you could get a good edge in, but it was treacherous when the fog was so thick, you couldn't get any sense where the terrain was taking you. I about broke my neck 2-3 times before I gave up ~2pm.

I did get invited over to a grill in the lot afterward. Some friendly locals offered me a dog with the fixins. I wanted to say thanks. I loved the vibe - total old school chill. I'll be back for sure.
Now off to Stevens tomorrow.

|Kayne||Skip Baker, go straight to Stevens. I live in Bellingham and don't go to Baker. And if it might be raining, it's more reason to avoid Baker, as if it's raining at Baker it's snowing at Stevens.|

Forecast looks similar for both Stevens and Baker... rain Sat night, more of a mix predicted up north. Well, I'll take what I can get... back here in NY, I just did a 5-ish hr r/t on Wednesday to Gore for 10 trails of man-made that were like grooved ice until 10:30, then turned into brown rutted mush.
I still plan to hit Baker on Sunday and Stevens on Tuesday. I'll be wearing blue 686 pants, white/gray Columbia parka, and a white smith maze helmet if anyone wants to say hello.

If you are limited to day trips, unless there is fresh snow I prefer Stevens. I think they do a better job of grooming. Crystal has a ton of terrain but if there isn't fresh snow I don't think their groomed runs are as nice plus there are lots of cat tracks and flat spots that are fine for skiers but not as much fun for boarders.
Snoqualmie is lower elevation and less than an hour from 2 million people. Runs are short, except some stuff at Alpental which is great for steeps when there is a good dump.

|qwezxc12||Appreciate the feedback. Aside from a 2-day powder pilgrimage to Baker if it's dumping, are Stevens, Snoqualmie, and Crystal all pretty much weekend shitshows for crowds? Should I plan on Baker on Sunday and hit up one of the others on a weekday instead?|
