Witty1 I'm partial to using a soldering iron with a flat tip... pressing & melting in Ptex coils (not the candle type). Works well because you melt the base in with the new material.

SkittlesRgood if its half as wide as a penny that might be wide enough that you would need a base rapair. i never tried to ptex a gouge that wide in base material before so i dont know how well it would hold (maybe it holds great). definitely worth a shot though. if it doesnt hold, try again since you are new to repairs. if it falls out again, you probably need to put in a new piece of base material like a patch.

Pickle Ok, now where can i buy some p-tex? I went to a ski shop, and they said i couldnt buy it because of liability issues..
And i can seem to find it at hardware stores

How to repair a chip out of my base?

So, last night i found a chip out of the base on my board. Its a bout half the size of a penny, and goes deep enough that i can see the wood. What is the bast way to fix this?
