Where are you going to put the snowboard , I think its like double the size of the car

Although the mpg it gets sounds tempting "40/45", they are not cheap damn like 12k for that thing.

i think what worries me is whether he'll do some more last minute things next fall/winter before his term ends that will further ruin our country. but, that's probably best discussed in the brand spanking new political forum...

Well if we get to that point, I believe that we are going to have far more problems than the cost of gas, in other words we would be fucked. I don't think that we would be able to maintain the same life style we currently hold. For the most part all food will increase in price as well as services, the country would go from recession to almost a depression.

With the situation that the dollar is facing in the exchange market things are odd to get worse. You know the situation is bad when foreign money such as Peso from Colombia is evaluating against the dollar, the history of el Peso is pretty damn bad the thing used to be worth nothing compared to the dollar, in the last year it gained half its value. But it stills remains low compared to the EURO.

I really hope bush gets out of there fast, he really messed this country. And lets hope the next president is someone that is actually concerned about our economy, instead of getting his own pockets full of money before his presidential term is over.

The ecconomic reccesion we are in has devalued the U.S. Dollar on the world market to such an extent that it has lost much of it`s buying power. As a result, it takes a lot more U.S. currency to buy the same quantities of oil we once enjoyed at reasonable prices due to our strong U.S. Dollar. Add to this the unregulated greed on the part of the world`s largest oil companies wha are shamelessly bragging about another consecutive quarter of record profit and you have the "perfect storm" to throw us into full blown depression.
Dammit Snowolf!
Now I'm getting all depressed.

Grimdog You guys in the States have nothing to bitch about. Gas in Calgary is $1.21/litre which converts to $4.57/U.S. Gallon. I don't want to hear it.

An average tractor trailer hauling a load of Produce from Southern California to a produce distributor in Seattle, Washington up Interstate 5 runs about 975 miles burning 195 gallons of diesel at a cost of $877.50 Added to that are the cost of the driver`s pay, truck maintenance, insurance, road taxes and permits. Freight rates have to go up for a trucking company to keep a truck on the road and those costs get passed on to the consumer. All of these increases in costs placed upon us, yet our wages are stagnating at 1990`s levels.
Mmh. I understand this...but I see one good thing coming out of this (well, not for truckers). With the prices now, people are finally having to pay $100 a tank, which might make them rethink their choice in vehicle. I mean, I'm not by any means an environmentalist or anything, but I hate how people buy a truck or SUV and drive by themselves in it, hauling nothing as if its just a really big car - if they want to have a vehicle that gets 15 mpg with a 25 gallon tank, more power to them - I just don't want to hear them complain. I drive a civic and get 40 mpg and complain...only because I actually try to get higher...

But then again, it really sucks about the diesel prices - more effecient, but the costs just suck, especially since American for the most part refuses against them...that, and the EPA restrictions are ridiculous.
