|Grasschopper||It's not a deal if it's too much boot for you and or doesn't fit properly. Give boots more attention as they are your key to comfort AND your riding.|

Boots too stiff for beginner?
I went to the shop the other day to look for new boots. I was going to wait until next year, but there's some killer deals out there right now. I was oversized for my previous boots, Burton Rampants. I was sized for an 8.5, when I should be a 7.5.
The only boots left are stiffer boots with a rating of 8. I just can't remember what the specific models were, but I believe one of them was a Burton Ion. It was a bit pricey, but since I might not go out more than two dozen times a year, I figure it would last.
Funny thing is the guy was kind of talking me out of it which is pretty funny considering he was looking to clear his stock, but he was a nice guy and seemed to have my best interest in mind. He was thinking of getting boots slightly softer from another store branch since I'm a beginner. However, it won't come until after this weekend and I wanted to go for a two day snowboard trip. I've gone out about a dozen times this year and can link turns at moderate speed thanks to all the great tips on these forums.
My setup is a NeverSummer SL 153 w/ Union Atlas bindings.
