handscreate Someone sent me a PM without issues. Who knows what the problem is/was, but it works now, and that's all I care about, haha.

Yeah, sometimes their shipping does suck, but other times I've had things show up super quick, like 4 days after ordering, when the checkout said it would be within 2-3 weeks. The helmet is expected to arrive on or before April 8. I'm hoping for well before since I'm not so sure how long the winter season will last here in SoCal.

Agreed! I hope I never have to have a situation where I need the helmet to save my brain, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Hopefully it shows up earlier than they claimed, since the 1st week of April is likely to be nearing the end of the season locally, unless some serious spring snow rolls thru. I'm really hoping I never have to find out how hard of a hit it can take, just want the added protection factor just in case...
Suppose it could be me doing something wrong too. If you know anyone on the forum you might have them ping you to see if it gets through or check with the admin if you PM anyone else and don't get any response.

Their shipping policy sucks but they claim it is to save you money. Took forever to get mine but hopefully you have more luck. Not sure what it is like down there but the snow machine is in full blast mode up in the PNW, several feet have fallen in the last few days.

Better to have a helmet and not need it. Both my GF and I have hit our heads the last two weekends, something neither of us has done in the past few years. I was going fairly slow and buried my tip in warmed up goopy snow and the board came to a complete stop while I was snapped into the ground with my head taking the worst of it. Mild headache and slight case of whiplash that is still there two weeks later. Probably would have had at least a mild concussion without a helmet. GF was going much fast but nothing serious resulted, she was glad she had the helmet on.

SBK Even tried to go through the administrator, said you don't accept messages.

Definitely on the light side, more like a bike helmet. Probably good for one hard shot but that's what they are for, keep your brains from scrambling.

Hope you like it.

I purchased one last time they were on sale. Unfortunately the helmet was too small and I had to send it back. I am a tweener between Medium and Large and these definitely run small IMO. It was real light and seemed well made and designed. Id go on the bigger side. The seemed to be plenty of adjustment to tighten it up. I thought they look good too. I ended up with a Giro Surface S which I like but it is a lot heavier.

I kept the audio. The earpads seem similar in sound quality to the Skull Candy drops. The cords are crap, broke after two uses but my GF has the same problem with the Skull Candy ones, I think she is on her 5th cord or so. For $10 though they are a much better deal than the $30 or more they charge for other brands of drops.
Don't know why it wouldn't let you send me a PM. I checked my settings, and everything seems to be checked and unchecked in all the right places, but I'll check again just to be sure.

I went ahead and ordered one in XL with the audio kit. Thanks for the input and the response! I'm glad to hear that you found the helmet to be light weight, as that is really important to me. I used to ride street & dirt bikes & a heavy helmet would cause some neck pain after a very long ride. I figure the same goes for riding the slopes.

Thanks again for the response & input!

bseracka My whitewater helmet fit true to size and they have a nice retention system. They're speaker pocket design looks like the standard drop in most mfrs. are using now. From looks any drop in speaker will work: red, skull candy, giro etc. For $10 I'd give theirs a try before droping more cash on the others.

handscreate Good to know. Does your helmet fit true to size or did you size up/down? I'm right on the cusp between a L & XL. My head is approx 23", so I'm thinking XL... Curious if the audio is any good on these also. Really hoping someone who has bought a SB helmet from them can tell me.

bseracka I've used their whitewater helmets and like them. I think they're expanding their line like sweet did a few years ago. Their whitewater helmets are solid and well made and there's no reason to think the sb helmets would be any different.

Shred Ready Helmets - Anyone know anything about them?

Saw that The Clymb | The Gear You Need. Up to 70% Below Retail. has Shred Ready helmets on sale today. Does anyone know anything about them? Did a google search and didn't find much other than their website (as far as reviews or additional information) - Shred Ready - Snow Sports Helmets. Under $50 for a rated helmet with an (likely mediocre, are any of them really that fantastic anyway) audio system seems like a pretty decent deal, as long as it offers enough head protection.

Has anyone seen them 1st hand or tried one one/worn one on the slopes? All these recent deaths due to head injury are making me really think I should buy a decent lid. I never ride out of control, but I do want something between my head and the snow in the event that some jackass who isn't in control clips me.
