walove I've spray painted lots of boards. Sand them first with 120 grit sand paper. I've had good luck with with cheap paint from home depot. Auto parts stores have a bigger selection of color. I painted one white and used sharpe and it stayed good for a long time. It didn't chip off for me, it might if you sprayed over a gloss top sheet, but that's why I sanded first.

Blurboy1980 Damn you did those board yourself? How did you do it? Those look awesome....I actually work at a sign shop so I can make digital print's myself....I was just curious if I make a digital print to go over it, is there something I need to apply so it doesn't just rip up right away.

ecks I wouldn't advise the spray paint route either. It will cost you way too much for good automotive paint and at the end it will crack anyway. I did it for me and me girl when we picked up old rossignol board that went out of rental for free so I didn't mind spending ~$50 on paint and supplies. It turned our great but still chipped in the end. Make sure to coverup the binding mount points before you spray though.

I cut out a couple spades for myself and a heart for my girlfriends board as stencils and the boards in the back WALL is what I came up with. Not too bad but I was young so I just wanted to ride and not have "Rental" in huge red letters on the board. (excuse the cut outs in the wall, basement got flooded a few days before I took this picture in March).

HoboMaster I think probably your best bet is just to put a crapload of stickers on the topsheet.

BurtonAvenger It's a snowboard who gives a shit you'll hit rocks with it and then move on to something else.

duh Krylon plastic paint with Fusion. That's the best paint solution but after time will still scuff, crack and chip. Or you could get a bunch of paint pens and a gallon of coffee. Stickers and vinyl topsheet skins will also work but will peel up if to close to the board's edge after time.

The thing is that snowboards get scratched, dinged and chipped on a regular basis. Lift lines, chair rides and gondola loading are not nice to snowboard topsheets. Whatever you do to make your board look better keep in mind that some asshat will probably ride straight into it your next time on the hill.

Blurboy1980 Wont it though be destroyed or torn everytime you take it out or is there something I can put over it to protect it?

ilikecoupons stickers

i would get a vinyl topsheet/sticker that you can just apply on top of the top sheet. spraypaint can crack and sharpie is just a bad idea. I think it's like $30 a pop.

You can get lots of cool stickers for free though

Redesigning a snowboard

Hey everyone....Just bought my first ever board from Ebay and it's kinda a cheesy board but it was $40 with shipping with bindings so not a bad deal for being brand new to the sport but I was hoping to hmm make it look a little cooler I was just wondering if anyone has done it before if they had any tips. I read a few things...sand it down etc etc but I don't wanna ruin the board obviously. Any tips would be great. I will try and include a picture of it. If it doesn't work here is the link to the ebay page....
