BigDouggieDoug I know I'm taking my chances. But I'll have that time off and I'd rather take groomers than staying home.

linvillegorge December is really early. Pretty much a crap shoot everyone. Could be great, could be bony as fuck and limited to pretty much nothing but groomers. You're really rolling the dice that early.

BigDouggieDoug Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm gonna go with Jackson Hole this time and will save the others for future trips.

Should I spend all 4 boarding days at JH or 2 there and 2 at Grand Targhee? How's the drive between these mtns that time of the year?

BigDouggieDoug Appreciate all the input so far. I've got to look into all these places. Planning to book in couple weeks.

killclimbz Crested Butte is amazing and probably my most favorite ski area in Colorado. It is also rockier than fuck. Arapahoe Basin is a distant second in that regard. December is an awfully early time of year to be gambling on Crested Butte. Great town, great mountain though.

Best conditions are probably going to be Wolf Creek and I am getting a gut feeling California may pour it on early this year. Seems like Cali is due for a good early season. Though often it comes in mid November last until mid December when it does.

oak Check out Crested butte, Co. Awesome mountain and town. Little different vibe than the rest of Colorado.

Ok ok...how about Steamboat? Jackson Hole? Durango?

Not major nightlife destinations but you can find some vittles.

No where near Summit County unless you like Disneyland during the summer.
Since I've experienced a little bit of CO, Jackson Hole might be it this time ....

Almost went to Banff this past March, but chose Whistler for my first Canada trip. Banff's very tempting!

I need good dining more than night-life Yeah, Wolf Creek got good servings of powder last year when most others were dry!
