RagJuice Crew Happy days. Nice one folks, thanks for the help. We took the place in Creekside in the end. Departure day is getting closer and we're getting excited. New Year's Eve in Whistler and some of the best boarding on our doorstep - can't wait!

Jed What he said.

Creekside is like a second mini village with some shops and grocery store and some bars and restaurants, plus the bus ride to the village is really short if you need to go into town.

Also, Creekside has a gondola to get up Whistler mountain, so you won't be far from the lifts each morning and if you need to get to Blackcomb mountain you can just take the peak 2 peak across from Whistler.

mitch19 Nah, it's not a problem. The bus ride is only like 5 mins away, most people that live here long term don't live IN the village cause it's to expensive. Pretty much everyone I know lives either Bayshores (which is past Creekside) or Alpine which is north of the village. Plus there are bars and shops in creekside too

RagJuice Crew Cool, thanks. Was worried we'd be a bit too far out so we'd miss out on the social side of things (we're not going for that, and will be on a budget, bit it'd be nice to have the option at times!). From what I'm starting to realise, that won't be an issue - would I be right?

I guess we were thinking of it in terms of, say, a lot of European resorts (where if you are a bus ride away you are missing out completely) rather than a full town.

mitch19 yeah Creekside is fine, I've lived in Marketplace in the village, Two places in nordic and now in a place in Bayshores. Even though Bayshores is a bit further away I found it better then Nordic, Creekside will be awesome but you will need a bus pass still most likely so budget another $65 a month for that

Thanks Mitch. Think we have identified a house share that might suit - reasonable price, with wifi, cable, heating etc covered, close to gondola etc. In Creekside. Are you in Creekside or the main town? Is Creekside a good choice for a medium term stay?

Thanks for the reply. You're correct, we won't be working. On the BC/Alberta thing, great minds think alike: that's actually what we are doing! Two months in Whistler then a road trip across BC and Alberta to Calgary before heading onward. We want to experience the resort living, just for a while, get our snowlegs back (because of this trip we didn't get away at all in Winter 11/12 so we'll be rusty) and really get to know the mountain and the place (it's somewhere we may go back to). And then we still get to experience plenty of other spots.

Since I posted this we think we may have found somewhere suitable. It's in Creekside, not far from the gondola apparently. I've been led to believe a lot the seasonaires stay in Creekside, is that right? Is it ok as a spot to stay even though it's a bit outside the main town?
