Ditto this.

Basically all of the $ amount fields are going to be worthless in your analysis because you've already bucketed responses in to discrete categories that can't be further analyzed at a more detailed/granular level.

Ideally you capture these field as numeric open-end so that during your analysis you can categorize them based on significant bands. You should also allow for options like "I would never spend money on XYZ" or "Prefer not to answer" otherwise you're forcing people to give you meaningless responses. For example "How much do you pay for protective equipment?" I had to say "~$200" even though I only spent about $75 on my helmet and that's the only thing I own. You should also provide option of "I don't have any protective equipment".

Nothing personal - and I did take the survey -- but it seems like all the Master's programs don't bother teaching jack shit about how to ask the right questions in the right format to yield data that can be meaningfully analyzed later on

Good suggestion to take. I am thinking about putting my milestone progress here for more interaction with all of you in the online community, at the same time to have my project developed, From the boarders, For the boarders.

Another aspect I'd love to keep an eye on is the cultural trait of this sport, thought there are already many sub-cultures in snowboarding sport, some stuff might be shared, like (entertaining and silly) etc, as mentioned above.

In order to push my projetc/design forwards successfully, I have got to know the users well, from value, personality, to lifestyle, etc. Actually I am catching up with what I was not familiar with, from both powderful slopes and chat room.

My preliminary research already shows that injury pattern (body area/severe level/ frequency, etc) is different, due to boarders' skill levels.

Thanks for the insight/feedback, and your time filling the survey.

Tom.
Well at least you got some useable data from it. Glad to help

I think your thesis is flawed starting with the title. You will never prevent snowboard injury.

Call it something like "Snowboard Injury Risk Management".
