+1. I hate how this stuff is sometimes marketed as safety equipment - which it really is not.

Yeah. My body is so beautiful it deserves a quick recovery...lol. I don't care about the old pants. Going to chuck the reflector in my new goretex pants. Cheers!

bseracka Don't remove it. You'll mess up your pants and they'll be less water resistant without any benefit. Recco is a good idea, but it's mostly for body recovery by the time it's deployed; assuming you're even on a mt that has the equipment.

ARSENALFAN I guess I should have said Recco Reflector. Receiver is completely wrong terminology. In any event....my 7 year old found it. Its in the lower leg. I am thinking about removing it to put it in my new snowboard outfit. Cheers to all. This post is officially dead.

extra0 idk, those things are pretty big - if you can't find it, it's probably not there. It should be on the outer lower leg on the pants. You sure you received the right model pants?

Recco location in pant

I have a pair North Face Cryptic snowboard pants and it says they are equipped with a recco receiver. Just out of curiousity, does anybody know how large these things are and where they are located? I can't for the life of me find it.
