phony_stark Ski shop asking about flow bindings....hee.

Why didn't your job let you pick a different screen name?

Wait, does flow make step ins for skis now? If so, apologies...

Blitzer I'm not sure what to think yet. I like the new NASTY strap idea for sure. The toe strap seems gimmicky, though. When you push your foot in, the strap is pushed to the front part of your toe, like a toe stop. Its not "cupping" your toe like the regular toe cap bindings do. Of course you can reach down and adjust it to be like that, but then you are kinda defeating the purpose of a quick entry binding. I believe there have been a few reviews or comments by the likes of Leo and BA regarding that issue.

Im interested in the new NX2-AT with the NASTY strap that you can also do side entry on, however I just fondled them in the store today and they seem a lot heavier than last years (which they had for comparison). The heelcup and highback are made of an aluminum alloy and the baseplate is thick (not a bad thing). Together, makes for a noticeably heavier binding. So much so that I did not end up buying them. Going to think about it some more and may consider buying last years model despite the lack of NASTY.

Very curious about anyone's on snow opinions of the NASTY strap....

Donutz Of course there are two questions -- one, whether the new binding design will hold up and deliver what's intended, and two, whether the new strap designs will work out.

I'm a Flow fanboy, but I was also pretty interested in Contrabands when they came out. Glad I didn't buy some now. I'll be interested in what actual owners have to say after a season. (you listening, slyder????)

What do you think of the new FLOW bindings?

Are these things going to stick around? Or is it just going to be an awful idea like the Burton Freestyle One-Up from last year?
