Yup, I always do that to check the board's stiffness.
I've never gotten a board to flex as much as the guy in the video, but I'm usually looking at stiff boards.
Actually, the sales person usually does that in front of you to show the board's flex. You didn't have that happen when you bought your board?

Allowed to bend boards?
I was looking at the Youtube THE-HOUSE.COM videos on "How To Buy a Snowboard?".
Actually I already bought my board and stuff last season but almost everything was picked at the recommendation of the sales attendant. On retrospect I did not even think of bending any of the boards to test the flex in the shop.
Did any of you actually go as far as, or dare, bending the boards in the shop like the guy in the video did?
