2013 Season @ Alpine Valley starts Monday

Last week I left for cascade at 1 and pretty much got there by 3:30. We rode till like 8 and I was home by 11. It was worth it. I try to go during the week when they have ticket specials

slyder Im going to Granite Peak in 2 weeks 3 hours each way. But for you DH or Cascade is a great ride. It's all commercialized populated cities. Lots of restaurants, stops, and shopping if you need to break up the trip.

If you did a Saturday leave 6:30 am and stayed and rode till 8 ish you'd be home before midnight. You wouldn't regret the trip. Both are a bit bigger with longer runs. DH has a nice MELLOW 1 mile run. It was a great break to just chill and monkey around down the mountain with my kids.

Cascade can get real crowded with kids under 12, they ride free. Great for families but as stated if your looking for a little less crowded with "kids" DH either way you can't go wrong.

rgunzalez I finally made it up to Alpine Valley last night.

Definitely a big step up from Wilmot! The length of the runs at least allow you to soak in some nice speed before ending as abruptly as Wilmot, and although they're not super long, at least it makes for a quick lift ride.

The conditions were nice. It was snowing lightly and the snow was perfect for fast carving.

I want to check DH or Cascade next but its hard to do 3 hours each way.

slyder I'll be there after 5:00 I'll be the dad in the park with black grey cammo jacket and black helmet. If anyone is there flag me down and we'll hit some rails or the jump line.

It was great today. Snow was almost perfect, kinda slow. I actually hit the second kicker and did the rail better than usual. I did cheat and bought some Hillbilly Impact Shorts and they helped a bunch with the crashes. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Zolemite That sucks about your trans. I'm probably heading there tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's not too icy. I'll probably scope the hill before buying a ticket

slyder I was there Sunday. A few runs were closed while they were blowing snow and those runs were also major sheets of ice.
The other runs were kind of a blast. There was LOTS of deep manmade snow to carve through. We had a blast just carving around the resort.
The park was icy so we stayed out of it.

I will be there Friday night so I'll know more then.
I grenaded my tranny so getting there is not easy and I need to pull it out of the car so riding time took a hit !!!
