Backcountry I don't really know, and because all the videos and I wasn't even gonna use it until I saw "Backcountry" wasn't used I couldn't believe it wasn't tooken so I just used. It will come in handy in a few years hopefully!

atr3yu Good on you for taking lessons, it's the right way to get things started.

poutanen Have fun! And what's the problem with getting lessons once you own your own gear? Olympians get lessons all the time, they just call them coaches.

BTW how'd you get the name backcountry when you haven't really even been on-piste yet?!? I want a refund!

Going up for my first time!

Well I basically am, if you count that I went up once near the end of the season last year. I am getting lessons because even though it might not be cool for a guy who already has gear, I just thought in the long run, would be the right decision. I am going up to Red Lodge Mountain Resort which is in kinda southern Montana and I'm driving there with my dad, it's about 2 hours out from where I am. I will post something later just saying how it went, even though all people basically start off the same with just falling and near the end getting turns and stuff. I' just stoked, and I'm leaving in about 1 hour!
