I think Wiredsport might be on to it.
If your stance is really wide it can make buttering suddenly a lot harder on some boards cause of their flex pattern. At home, try out a skinnier stance and see if it's easier to press.
I'm 145lbs. and I prefer 152cm for riding around the mountain, but still being able to lay a press easily. If I make my stance too wide(which is a bit more natural feel to me as I have very long legs being 6ft tall) it makes it much harder to get leverage over the board.

Remember the trick is called a "press" you aren't trying to pull the end up with your psoas (hip flexor muscle), you are "pressing" the other end down by shifting your weight over the other end and with your core tightened the other end of the board will lift from the strength of your 'press."
I think I have a video of my friend buttering a Skate Banana 152 at your weight
Update: found it - not a great video, but still enough to show that snowboarding really is 99% Rider > 1% board.

I've got a small nana and buttering it is really easy, just project your weight into the tail rather than pulling the nose. Have you checked out the snowboard addiction free intro to buttering? That got me going fine It could also be the stance.
The size of your board seems pretty spot on, the calc here is surprisingly accurate, but it's all preference!

|newnew||i'm comfortable at my stance. nothing feels awkward. the only time it's awkward is when i'm trying to manual or butter. feels like my leg is getting pulled out of my hip socket lol|

i'll have to demo my friend's boards when we hit up the mountain again. one has a 147 boxscratcher and the other guy has a 153 pickle.
i seriously think it's just beacuse i'm not heavy enough for the board. height has nothing to do with the size of the board i thought?

It sounds like you already are aware of this, but the Skate Banana is the softest board Lib makes in adult sizes (really small Box Scratchers excluded).
That doesn't mean that the flex is right for you or that length is an issue. I would highly suggest demoing another deck before buying. Try something different that is known as an easy press deck and that should answer your doubts.
