|Perpetual3am||I'm sure if that woman had money that would have never happened in the great, US healthcare system. Sad story, but I don't think it represents a common attitude among people, the papers love the doom and gloom stories. What about the Subway hero? There are lots of good people out there, never lose faith in that.|

The two topics aren't related here though; its one thing to pull a complete stranger from a burning car, and its another to chase after a man who just stole a purse. Honestly, the latter I wouldn't do to "rescue" a womans purse. I'd be the first to say: "here's my cell phone; call the police, and your credit card company" Cuz I'm not chasing after a crackhead or a petty thief that has nothing to lose and can easily put a bullet between my eyes.
That being said, I've helped stranded people too... most times on the way to work, cuz it gives me a darn good excuse to be late (haha) and it feels good helping when i can. I've done it twice now, and one guy was actually a member of my car club! (which I didn't realise until I got out of the car)... small city!
There are still plenty of good people in this world. Don't lose faith in humanity simply becuase the media (CNN of all of them) pursuade you into thinking that we've all become monsters and that you should live like a paranoid bubble boy.

well your edit is a nice gesture and one which i am sure was motivated as much by your own thoughts, as any view expressed by myself.
i would hope that such imagery does make it impossible for the hospital's administrators to gloss over or make light of this issue. and so that is something of potential 'benefit'.
of course i am not unaware of there being an audience for sites such as 'faces of death' or 'rotten' (yeah i mention them knowing that some will read this and then search those sites out, just as i have in the past) as there is a natural inquisition in humans to rubber neck at crash sites....
but this particular story which affords the bereaved no anonymity and indeed, is so recent as to be acutely painful still..... well it just seemed one step beyond 'acceptable'.
kudos simply^; have a goodun!

You know you are right, I edited the link to just post the news.
The daughter did say that she will not see the video, I can surely understand why, I believe the video will only further her attacks in court.
On a brighter note at least this case came out on the open, that way the hospital will not get away with it.

sincerely (and no slight to you simply^ coz this isn't the first i have seen of this story) but i do not know which is worse....
whether this situation was allowed to occur in the first place (and god knows there are worse examples of neglect and abuse out there)
or whether it is approrpiate for this video clip to be so widely and quickly shared around the world via the internet, as a form of grotesque, car crash form of 'entertainment'
i will not watch the link, the title already told me enough, but i find it perverse that we can be allowed to disrespect the victims in this situation by claiming to be horrified by what we know we will see.
more and more, humans disgust me.

this is some fucked up shit....
Woman who died on hospital floor called 'beautiful person' - CNN.com
it kind of reminds me of the situation with the guy who got hit by the car and no one helped him. But this one just goes an extra step up, I hope they sue the living fuck out of those people. It just amazes me what the world has come too, no ones cares for others anymore.
Where did all the good people went???
