P3 Mammoth I got lazy and never checked my hardware this season. The end result was my rear highback hardware falling out midday a few weeks back. Took the back the rest of the way off and shredded the heck out of it. I liked it for soft snow, so much so that I left my binder that way for a few days. Definately something to try if you have never ridden that way before.

Sudden_Death I rode my Now Ipos without the back the other day. That binding is designed to be ridden without it though. I did it back in the 90s and always felt the board felt pretty dead heelside. Maybe with today's better boots it might help but I don't see the point of riding a binding engineered with the highback as a critical piece without it.

Nivek You use it. Backless is definitely a looser feel. It's fairly fun to jib and decent on those small wide pow sticks but personally not something I'm a huge proponent of.

backless...anyone tried it?

anyone thought about going backless or tried it? Does it matter? I tried paying attention when riding and I can't tell when I move from toe to heal side edge if I am even using high back. obviously when you lift toes and shift your weight the toe side edge will come up.

thoughts? I could pull off high back and try it, but kind of a pain to be at out there at the hill and then try to be tinkering.
