Boston as a zillion couriers. But don't forget that huge chunk of people in the city, on any given day, are from the 'burbs and being in the city is not part of their normal course of bid'ness.

Perpetual3am How can that be possible, has anyone in Boston seen a bike courier? Its not like its all that difficult to do, just don't do it right after you buy some egg beater peddles and then lose your balance and fall completely flat before you can get your feet out.

No question, the funnest part about it is track stands at intersections. Despite living in downtown Boston, with bikes everywhere, its amazing how many people have never seen someone do a track stand. There is a lot of "OMG! LOOK AT THAT!" when I'm at a red light or something.

Aside from that, I had been riding a beat mountain bike around the city for the last 15 years. I didn't quite realize just how fucked up it was, or how bad mountain bikes are for city riding. Suffice to say, having a proper street bikes makes a huge difference.
