|NWBoarder||I just bought the new Deftones album yesterday, and I must say, it is AMAZING. I highly recommend it anyone that likes the Deftones.|

gyah, grandpa didn't play the solo for MOP
I remember checking out Deftones in the late 90s too around the time when nu metal was big. I liked a lot of the songs I downloaded, but a few computers and a bunch of dead hard drives later, I lost all of them. Thanks for this thread!
Also, regarding music, I don't know how, but I find Slipknot to go well with my riding.

I almost always ride listening to the Deftones... I'm old enough to have been listening to them from the very beginning.
I saw them last October at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle, a very small venue. It was completely and totally awesome. I took my 14yo son with me as his first ever rock show. He doesn't realize what I high bar has been set.

For whatever reason I can't see the vids you posted of the Deftones songs but if you didn't include Passenger from White Pony that features Maynard from Tool people need to check that song out. Two of the best hard rock vocalists ever on the same song together.
Of course for me Seven Words from Adrenaline still makes me flash back to 1996 and getting stupid slam dancing and abusing myself and anyone within arm or leg distance.
I definitely agree that of the bands from the late 90's generation that fit this mold they're the only ones that still make good music. They mellowed out for a little bit but the last album was back to their roots.
If you like these guys you should also check out Fall of Troy. I believe they broke up a couple of years ago but the music is sick.

|poutanen||Is just me or is there something really wrong with the way he plays the Call of the Ktulu intro? I've been playing that for years and to me it sounds almost nothing like the original. I wonder if it's just some echo or something about it being uploaded to youtube?|
