john doe My prediction is that she will be at the Olympics but will not medal. The amount if muscle she will lose in her down time will be hard to get back in time.

Jed ACL injuries aren't always a 6 months and you're good type of injury. There can be a lot of complications and it can take a lot longer than 6 months to feel 'like normal' again, if it ever does.

I speak as someone who's had 3 knee surgeries (and probably a 4th sometime in the future since I'm pretty sure I have loose meniscus in my knee).

It really depends on small things like how certain bits of our knee heal up, how much scar tissue you get, whether you're able to get full flexion back quickly or if there's complications with your meniscus.

There's a big, big difference with being good for daily activities and being strong enough for high performance snowboarding and skiing within 6 months.
