snowman2045 [QUOTE=sabatoa;3078969]I just stumbled upon this interesting history behind Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands;

Very interesting stuff, always enjoy seeing old time shots of our local resorts and how they have progressed. Kircher was a visionary, when it came to building snow resorts.

sabatoa Welp, just got home from Boyne Mountain and my season is officially over.

Boyne is going out with a bang; Ramshead has about a billion features from jumps to rails to pipes to tanks and on and on. Ramshead lift is running too.

There's also a smaller park on Boyneland, mellowed jumps and features. Then there's a big booster sending guys to orbit off of the Boyne Express. Spring slush has people sending like crazy off of it, iv never seen so many inverts (multiple inversions) being thrown by so many people.

Tomorrow is the last day for them so get it while you can.

I'll be hanging out on the forum in the off season. Hopefully next winter we can get some meet ups going.

david_z Cannonsburg announced their annual Jibs 'n' Salsa event for Saturday, April 22 from 11a-6p followed by the premier of Flanel's latest season edit at 7pm.

Always a fun time, and usually it's a pretty accessible setup with features for all/most skill sets.

No word yet whether they'll be running the chairlift, though I suspect they don't have enough snow for it, I'll do some recon next weekend if I remember.

I know!!! I don't feel like I've had near enough riding time this season. And things really aren't shutting down all that early. Just not enough local riding to go with the trips north & elsewhere!

Nubs is officially closed for the season according to their website. So,.. my season is officially over as well!

For the few runs @ Boyne Mtn. that are open and the conditions,..? I can't see spending the money for another trip north. -sigh-

sabatoa All I have is a chairlift selfie;

Yeah based on your comments about earlier in the week, the conditions were way better. The grooming wasn't up to the standards that I expect at Nubs, Smokey had rough seams from the groomers that were pretty pronounced when it was still cold and hard- but it softened up pretty quick.

ctoma Glad you guys had a good weekend, sounds like the conditions were better than the previous weekend when I was at Nubs and Highlands. My season ended that weekend, no chance of heading north for the upcoming weekend since I'll be in Fowlerville for the state Tae Kwon Do tournament (my 11 year old is competing).

Got any video or photos from this past weekend's excursion to the great white north?
