sabatoa and with that weekend update, this post becomes timely; Sometimes you Gotta Drive for the Goods | agnarchy.com

david_z Caught up with sam for a few hours at Holly yesterday, boy is it rough out there. The crew is def doing the Lord's work, though. I don't know how, but both parks were in pretty decent shape, plenty of features available and the snow wasn't really awful.

That said, talking to some of the crew they said they have 2 days' worth of snowmaking chemicals left, and the owner would prefer to use it up. So, they'll be blowing snow again, if the temps cooperate, although the long-term is calling for rain today and thunderstorms on Thursday/Friday, so I'd say they're right proper fucked and probably will not see snowmaking temps until saturday night, which means that there is approximately 0% chance that they will open this coming weekend.

I know they'll try to re-open next week or next weekend, if they can blow, but it looks damn grim at this point.

david_z Mt Holly tomorrow afternoon anyone? I'm shooting for maybe 3pm to 6pm

sabatoa Yeah it was definitely gaper day. I'm jealous you got out so much. Even though the runs were slow during the day, Funland was in great shape and fun to ride but I was getting pressure to go. I could have stayed there for hours. We didn't do the pipe Saturday, it didn't have the slush/ice combo on Friday (thank god)

asnobody After 5pm things got better at Boyne. Once the sun was off the slopes it was ok. Rode all day yesterday and today but only had fun at night really. The pipe was all slush one side and all ice on the other haha…ugh. I think a lot of people gave up late afternoon and went home. Between 6 and 9pm there were no lines and just good times.

THREE TIMES I almost got nailed by out of control skiers (kids) popping out of the trees straight across the run who were not paying attention… :/

david_z Boyne Mountain was good on Weds but hardpack, Thursday sun was out and softened up, pretty decent day and probably my hardest day of riding all year actually turning & burning demo boards for reviews.

Went to Cburg today, most of the snow was somehow "fast" slush, not the wet carpet / mashed taters crap. Pretty fun day overall, rode with Zoey and my wife for a bit and they went home and left me for a few hours. They set up a bunch of small jumps and hips leading in to their big(ger) jump. I skipped the big one but the others were lots of fun.

sabatoa Holy crap I forgot it was a holiday weekend. Riding buddy got broke off yesterday so only got a few laps in today while he waited in the lodge. Shame because the park was fun even though the rest of the hill is slow and slush.

sabatoa Yeah we were there during the day and the snow was sticky clay. Would have preferred mash potatoes

FYI - MC Sports is going out of business, so you might want to swing by one if you haven't yet to score some deals on gear.
