EastCoastChris Try some of the older stuff like Spirtualized (maybe On Fire from Let It Come Down) or some older Sigur Ross.

I like some heavier dream rock for shredding music than that whole new wave revival like Naked and Famous and Deadmau5 came up with. Seems like prog rock from the late 90s y 2000s is more marrried to grunge than pop or electronica.

JohnnyD Glitch Mob is the best! I've been listening to them since my first exam week in college and they would definitely be good for shredding to! Try checking out Daft Punk, They're probably my favorite. (Robot Rock, Fresh, Super heroes, Cresendolls... the list goes on.)

The Pixies - Hangwire, Hey, Monkey gone to Heaven, Where is my mind
Arcade Fire - Suburban war

Modest Mouse - Alone, Karma Payment, Cowboy Dan, All Night Diner
MGMT Kids, Time to pretend

I bought the Naked and Famous album, great band but only liked a couple songs.

You and I have very similar music tastes, that is when I'm not listening to punk. I am a massive White Stripes fanatic and I listen to all of those bands with the exception of Metric and Arcade Fire, which I will now have to check out.

For the OP, Bass Drum of Death has a couple of ragers that make nice riding music. One song of theirs I like is Get Found and another I like is Velvet Itch.

I'm also a super fan of Jay Reatard, too bad he O.D.'d so young. Fuck!

backstop13 If you liked the two Naked and Famous songs, check out Metric, Imagine Dragons, and Foster the People.
