There's a decent enough drop I can build a small kicker actually without needing any mechanical speed. Neighborhood is super hilly, our house is second on the street that goes completely downhill. Next to us (uphill, at the "top" of the subdivision) is the community playground so I can just drop in from there.

david_z From their twitter feed, it looks like it was somehow a pow day at Caberfae today.

Here, I think even if it had been colder, we'd have seen no accumulation. There was enough rain to be a foot of snow, but we also had sustained 40-50 mph winds most of the afternoon and evening. Here it says 37 right now which, if the sun was out, would maybe be decent. Then again, it was down to about 15 degrees this morning, so yeah, bulletproof is probably the flavor of the day.

My wheelbarrow tire is flat. There's enough snow at the curb still leftover from the plow trucks that I could salvage my backyard jib, but without the wheelbarrow I don't think I have the motivation to do it.

sabatoa That rain sucked. I was considering a Thursday session somewhere local because I won't be up this weekend, but I think I'd be looking at bullet-proof...

david_z well guys I give up. woke up to 4" of wet snow yesterday, knew we were in for a warm-up but not sure how bad it would get. so I went out and shoveled entire driveway & walk, then moved to the yard so I could shovel a new ramp and in-run for my rail. Lots of lifting & moving heavy snow. Around lunchtime, it started raining, and didn't stop until about 10pm. Literally all the snow is gone.

I'm pissed about my backyard rail (actually, there *might* be enough crust left where I built up the run to ride that yet...), but probably more pissed that I shoveled all that snow and didn't need to

Overnight local forecast called for 3". Pffffftt!!! Nubs had 12"-18" even 20"+ on top of smooth groomed runs!

offthewallds A little late, but Christmas Eve at Cab was a blast on the new West. Plenty of pow and side hits thru the afternoon before it got washed out. The West was a lot of fun that day, very surfy in the fresh, and it loves to cut hard on the groomers. Started working towards some euros but couldn't quite get it that day. Only bummer was that it was so warm and wet out that the lift cables were pissing grease on my new gear. It didn't stick but it was annoying 'til it cooled down later that day.

Went back out on the 28th and it was cold and icy. Went riding with a buddy who was able to coach me a bit and got a couple decent euros, half-assed reverts, and managed some laid out switch butters on an ice wall. I was definitely at the edge of this board's capabilities on the ice, it got hairy a few times on South Peak. A longer, camber dominant board would have been better for the conditions but I still had fun.

We got hit by WS Helena and have work off tomorrow. I'm thinking a trip to the Blue Ridge's tomorrow is in order to sneak in a ride.
