Flick Montana Plus, they limit your installs. So if I want to replay it at a later time, but have already done 3 installs (which is likely because I have a desktop and a laptop and the first install isn't always successful) you're boned. They make you buy another license. Complete rubbish.

YanTheMan yeah, I bought Fallout 3 and it didnt work for a week because they it was believed to be an illegal copy.

What!? i just bought it. Not impressed. I ended up just downloading the torrent of the game and used my own cd key.

Flick Montana My biggest complaint about torrents is what game companies do because of illegal game copies. EA is the worst. All this garbage they make you install on your system so they can make sure it is a legal copy. How long until we're sending screenshots of our desktop to them for verification just so we can play a game? Plus, it only works for a few days until it's cracked.

I'd actually download some games just because the copyright stuff is so invasive.

YanTheMan Gah, I hate these laws. Thanks to metallica... :P

Yeah, Its ridiculous how dumb charges like these are equivalent to manslaughter and such
Here in canada they wanted to pass a bill that would make distrubution of marijuana equal to manslaughter. WTF. As far as torrents go I have no idea about laws, but i do use them religiously. I can get what I want withouts commercials, any movie im curious about, or a game

thenightmare oh my god i love torrentz lawlz i'm so damn bored

thenightmare i dont agree with the fact that if they catch u downloading one movie it's like up to 10 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. or is that distributing? i cant remember. anyway i still think that's a HUGE punishment when oj gets 15 for kidnapping and consp. armed robbery.

Perpetual3am It's totally legal in Canada, until it's not, I'll be downloading.

The funny thing is that I end up buying a lot of movies even though I download them. It's my way of previewing them and I never feel bad downloading because my DVD collection is 350+. The movie and music industry has helped create this situataion, who says artists need to make a million dollars a year? When you charge $30 for a new DVD or movie and it sucks or there is only a few good songs, sorry but people are going to take whatever alternatives they can. Would it really be so wrong for the artists to make $100,000 a year? Especially doing something they likely enjoy?

Same with cable, if I'm going to pay for it and then also have to watch 18-20 minutes worth of commercials in a single hour long show, sorry but it's not going to happen. Especially once you get used ot watching TV without commercials, that shit is just way too much. If the various organizations put they're greed aside maybe you might see people think twice before jumping on the torrent bandwagon.

And last I heard, they're still making crap loads of money.

Flick Montana I made enough money from my illegal copy of 3DS Max to buy a license.

Same thing happened to me when I bought CS2. It was $118 on a student discount and like 2 weeks later CS3 came out. Doh!
