Heavy snowfalls in the high alpine let me do another last splittour. Was sort of an experiment cos I actually didn't expect to reach the peak... 10km distance over glacier along cerracs and crevasses; 1550m vert ascent to the 3320m peak.
The last 100m of the ascent I had to fight against giving up and turn around; glace fixated to the split, counting the steps and trying to keep the endorphins flowing...
And... super stoked that I did reach the peak (midseason I struggled to sustain a 1000m ascent and thought that is my limit)
Unfortunately, the wind has blown the 40cm pow from Monday away and the warm temps turned the snow into mush even that high up but it still was a blast, beautiful scenery, fun to venture BC a last time while down in the lowlands spring is full on with >20°C and ppl wear t shirts.
Target today: the round broad peak in the sunlight
Early rise and ascent over the glacier on the left side
She's getting closer... halfway up. Phewww... air gets thinner
Rewarding view from the peak; how lucky we are to be in the middle of a blue sky while half the country is beneath a cover of clouds

I thought the season was over. 30cm expected tomorrow. Just got the go ahead for Saturday from my wifey, aka the boss, aka my younger old lady... So I'm pretty stoked. I just about packed the season in. I'm hoping the rest of Switzerland packed it in.
My neighbor recently took the ski-rack off his wife's wagon and and is already parking his mid-life crisis Ferrari outside of his garage. This indicates a change in seasons.

DH = Dear Husband
I have always used DH. Its just a habit. I use DD for dear daughter and DS for dear son. Its just what I do. It means nothing other than I am lazy and its shorthand.
I noticed Neni uses SO (this one is often interpreted as unmarried but attached or gay partner) and lots of guys on here say wifey or boss or the wife. lol. whatever works for ya!
And now that I know it's sarcastic and cheeky I like it even more.

The usage of "dear" can also be sarcastic. Owens (2007) writes that DH "suggests a certain distancing".

|Rogue||Awesome adventure, per usual! How was the new watch? Did it tell you slope angle or you already knew it? I've been eyeing them, but after my "Swift" purchase, it will have to wait|

Great touring Sunday. The Föhn was blowing hard at the Gotthard range and ripped some nice sunny patches into the otherwise grey cloud cover.
Taking the glacier experess till Oberalppass made for a only 1000m ascent but +2000m descent; at the top with a tiny dusting in 38°, yay, some very sweet fast turns, lower down in perfect fun sping corn, all untouched since the access to that run includes some traversing on firm crusts, ridge traversing and climbing . Jones Solution with Spark crampons, and the Deeluxs XV boots performed very well.
