Sounds like Mel Gibson in The Beaver. I read that he used 3 different saws and why is he referred to as a victim?

I haven't been able to figure out: how to group tiles I want, get rid of tiles I don't want and add the tiles I do. I figure it's probably easy to do this, I just haven't taken the time to mess with it.

Win 8 does run and boot quickly, but still seems to rely significantly on the desktop UI. With the heavy reliance on the desktop UI, not adding the start button is a mistake. That being said, I believe Win 8 is a transitional OS to allow the phase out of legacy software and the next windows will likely not be backward compatible while completely phasing out the desktop UI.

Yeah that's f'd up. I'd hardly suspect it was a suicide attempt considering I could think of 1000 other more effective ways to die with an entire Home Depot at my disposal.

So I found out that the photo and video apps were still running in the background which is why it would kick me out of Windows Explorer. I was able to shut them down (with the help of youtube) and set the new default programs. It wasn't difficult, but I do find it frustrating that Windows changed so much without warning. Good to know the old options are still available. You just have to hunt for them.

Extremo Windows 8 is freezing on me multiple times a day. Maybe it's my Sony. But it's my 3rd Vaio. I never had these problems on my others.

Ubuntu looks tempting. I may try it out on an old machine.
