Off to st anton mid january 2012, never done Austria before and one of the
Main reasons we choose Austria, apart from the great freeride reviews was the Amazing après ski, Last years french alps trip although great boarding was lacking a bar in several resorts with more than One or two other people of an evening, was like visiting ghost towns!! I know mid jan is not necessarily high season in st anton but hoping the bars will still be pretty Packed! What say??? |

St Anton is great. I was there in Mid January last season and had a wicked time.
Around 3/4pm the mountain Apres bars (or skihuette in Austria) start to fill up. The Krazy Kangaruh and Mooserwirt are the two best (I preferred the Mooserwirt), and are located on the long blue run down to the village. From here, it's a little ride down to the main town, where more bars await you! Depending on where you're staying you can talk a walk along the main street diving into bars as you make your way back. We'd usually get back to the room for 8pm, shower quickly, grab some quick food, and then head out to more bars and clubs. Austria is a great place. Have been to St Anton, Obergurgl, Ischgl (MENTAL!) and am going to Mayrhofen this coming January. Can't wait. If you have any Qs about St Anton let me know. |
