Either Stowe or Jay would be better. Sugarbush is in the boonies, with nothing to do if the conditions suck (everyone up north got snow this week, and more on the way, so check often). But Stowe is a whole town, a long strip of restaurants and stuff to do, and a beautiful new base area. Expensive, though. Jay Peak is a long drive, but best terrain in the east. AND, again, if the conditions are poor, their new resort is awesome. A few bars, a huge indoor waterpark with surfing and a slide that was featured on one of the Travel Channel Extreme WaterPark shows. Also, a skating rink and heated outdoor pool/hot tub. Jay is my favorite, but it's a long drive. Bring a passport, and you can hop the border to Sutton, Canada for a day trip and riding Mt. Sutton.

Just check the weather. We're getting blasted by arctic air this week, on top of several inches of real snow. Everyone will have the snow guns blasting. Conditions could actually be pretty good by the time you get here.
