Wtf?

It's mid-January and I haven't made it out ONCE. Gear is packed, I waxed the board, ready to go...it was t-shirt weather today! :dizzy:

Quit slacking. Start slashing.

There's plenty of snow here in New England, you've got to find a way to broaden your options. I'm slacking this season, but that's mostly because of time and money. Only about 15-20 days out this season. Granted conditions aren't ideal, there's still plenty of fun to be had.

I'm in the same boat. Got my first board and want too get it dialed in, buy 45deg and raining = no joy

There have been quite a few very good days to ride so far this season. Now if you were unwilling to pay the fee because there wasn't enough terrain open for you or you just couldn't make it out then those are other issues.

It has been a painful season for me also. CO is in a great winter, Breck has been getting dumps of snow, and between work trips and a two week flu coma I have been limited.

At least next week I am off for the whole week and plan to ride at least six days.

We're supposed to get a blast of cold (snow making, at least) and some real snow -- but it's MLK weekend! Can't win. Mountains are only 50% open with twice as many people and holiday ticket prices. With MGFG "snow." I'll pass. Maybe next weekend I'll try Loon or even Sunapee. I also have $40 tix to Jay Peak (also only half open) but I'll burn up the difference in gas. What's a brother to do???

Wow man... Just get in your car and drive to New Hampshire or Vermont.... It's like you're waiting for Alaskan pow conditions or something before you go out. The resort doesn't have to be 100% to have a good time... Like seriously it's been a great year so far in New England and you're missing it because resorts aren't 100% open...

We clearly have different ideas about what "best conditions" are. It's not just trail count, it is what is open. Snowmaking trails are blues and greens at most mountains. I don't want to drive to Stowe or Jay only to pay nearly $100 to ride the basics. As you well know, I'm sure, a lot of those "open" trails are actually connectors and not really trails. I'm not looking for Alaska powder...I'm looking for a decent day when it's not 30 below zero with 50 mph winds, or 50 degrees with dirt and rocks. But that's just me.

The worst season I ever had was two years ago, when I was out for foot surgery anyway -- no one had any snow, and most places closed early. I just figure at this point I'll wait for mid-week cheap tix and no crowds. I don't want to get into the zoo on a holiday weekend for bare dirt and massive crowds. But again, maybe I'm just picky.
