Anyone Been to Stowe Yet??

I'm headed there next month and today I decided I'd check out the conditions currently. I know its about a month out, but only 66 trails out of 114 are open... I would think more, but weather is bs. Hope all is open when we go.... Crossing fingers.. Whos been?

I'm headed out there Feb 20th. Hoping its 100% by then. But last year January wasn't that great for snowfall either. Had the tempps but not the snowfall. It got sweet last year in February. So I hope and pray the same goes for this year

I was up after New Years it was cold as hell but pretty decent on the trails that were open. The north country has missed out on most of the storms that came through this year and also had to deal with those torch/rain weekends.

Stowe has put a ton into their snowmaking and it shows. They should have a few squalls and refreshers this weekend which will help.

Trees were obviously a no go but hopefully the new pattern treats them better up there.

Just left there and I expected more from a place with $100 lift tickets. Most of the lifts aren't high speed and the parks were SUPER short with the exception of their large park(Tyro). The parks were literally about 40 yards long.......my main mountain(mt.snow) has Carinthia so I guess I'm a lil spoiled.
The free riding was ok. Plenty of blues and blacks but only 64 out of 114 trails were open even after all the snow they just got. I don't mean to bash the place but I'll be ok if I never go back.
I'll be at Carinthia tomorrow

Stowe was never known for parks.. Thats more what Killington has. Stowe is a badass place to ride imo, but Im def a little down that only 50ish% of the trails are still only open..

Exactly!
Stowe is primarily a free ride mountain. I went last year February not only after numerous snowstorms but DURING a snowstorm so strong it was a whiteout at the summit with only about 50-75ft visibility. The riding was AWESOME.
Stowe is definitely worth the revist but I would try to wait till its a bit more open
