So before I wax my board and put the gear away wanna get some last runs. which mountain worth going?
I didn't go for the last 2 weekends because of rain....
hunter grass
windham closed
so looking at vermont, killington, or stowe or mount snow? anybody been there recently.
Leaving for Jay on Sunday. Monday is supposed to hit 70 degrees!
I'll probably take a trip down to Stowe also. Not sure on the conditions but Jay is still posting 100% terrain open on their site. Tuesday is supposed to be raining all day then dropping to 20s at night.
I suggest going to Stowe. It's further up north so the conditions should be better than Killi.
Jay is weird. They'll say "Stay away it's terrible!" But then post they're 100% open. I've NEVER seen them 100% open. But that far north, it's probably your best bet. Lots of warm weather up here right now.
new hampshire! we got tons of snow left, and no lines. we close up on the 20th. Cannon is 100% still, and Loon is damn close as well. Waterville closed due to lack of demand.
When I was there it was mainly a lot of British kids learning how to ski and a bunch of other ski classes. They mainly stayed on the greens, hardly anyone was on the blacks or blues. It was great. And it was in the 50's at the base but the top was a different story.
I'm off to Okemo tomorrow for the last hurrah. I'm sure it'll be more like surfing, but the tickets were cheap and the drive is under 2.5 hours. After that no mas until Dec.
Tram,+ flyer at Jay is still down due to high wind. Only the Jet Triple and 2 lower mountain lifts running. Season pass is great think i'll eat then go shopping.
I went to okemo last weekend. It was 100% slush, but may have changed. I will not be going there next weekend.
Real talk guys - Where is good for april 20th and 21st (next week)?
Jay peak says they have 78/76 trails open LOL how is that even possible? I'm considering sunday river because monday is free to everyone, but Jay peak is closer. I don't know...I live so far away from everywhere! Someone please fill me in!
Been here at Jay Peak since Thursday. Yesterday because of high winds Tram & Flyer where down. State side rocked.. Yes until tram shut down it's all open… Your choice free slush or great spring boarding. Glades where awesome, moguls a little soft, slush only near bottom.
If your going with someone else or a few more, look into their stay + ski packages. For two adults they put us in the Golf & Mountain Cottages for two nights plus 3 day lift tickets for both of us for $179 a night (that doesn't include tax and a resort fee, and this is good for up to four adults). Might be cheaper during the week, but the cottage was great. It consisted of three floors, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, it was very clean, three floors, wide screen tv, cable, fire place, full kitchen, etc. You figure if you just bought lift tickets online from them discounted it would be around $160 alone.
Forgot to mention, my phone service (sprint) didn't work there since I don't have international calling set up on it. So that may or may not be a problem for you since you have to use Canadian cell towers in that area.
Good looks on the cheap lodge. I'm going up alone, might snag one of the nice rooms at the mountain. And I can only imagine the cell phone service blows up there hah
BTW, the Verizon antenna is at the top of the tram.

It was 70 degrees last Monday. People in shorts and t shirts. I haven't experienced that kind of weather since Squaw a long time ago. Tuesday rained all day but then got 3-5 inches of snow overnight for Wednesday. Went to Stowe that day had a blast there too. Rode Jay Thursday and Friday and beautiful bluebird days. What a great way to end the season. Great beers and the first time I had poutine. Yum.
