Resorts close to Burlington VT

Would anyone recommend a resort for season pass?

I will be moving to Burlington and would ride after work / weekend. Needs to be near (less than half hour).

Would Bolton be the only option?

Stowe mountain also

If by after work you mean night skiing you are pretty much limited to Bolton. It's a bit closer than Stowe as well. I think they may have a combo Bolton/Smugglers Notch season pass which would be pretty good.

If night isn't an option most would say Stowe. Assuming you can handle the sticker price of a season pass.

You're within an hour and a half of many resorts. You're also not far from New Hampshire should you want to get a break from the crowds or a change of scenery. I think we have better snow in NH than VT anyhow.

Sugarbush. If you are in your 20's they have a great season pass deal.

Stowe is $1700, no night option, far. Excluded. Better buying weekend tickets.

Smugglers. Can't figure out the price, seems to be $650, no night option, far. Excluded. Better doing weekends at Stowe.

Sugarbush. $350, far. Tempting. Seems there's no night option. Weekends only.

Bolton. $570 regular or $140 night (Wed thru Sat for some trails).

-----------------

The conclusion is $140 night pass at Bolton during week.

The question remain about weekends. Stowe, Sugarbush (likely) or some place farther away?

(I'm a beginner rider).

Assuming this new job will have you around for more than a year I would just look around for local single ticket deals for the weekends. There are clubs to join, package deals where you get passes to just about every area in VT and then trade what you don't want, etc. Point being, don't get tied down with a big expense before you try them all, though as a beginner Sugarbush is probably a pretty good option.
