We have seen a plethora of great deals for the 16/17 season. We scored 3 days at Sunday River for 115.00! Please share if you see anything good ..I am expecting a massive snow blow this winter. You may quote me.
Was this just by going to their site and picking the discounted days ahead of time or did you purchase a package where you can use those tickets at different times?
We chose our dates and it priced out 115.00 pp for 3 days. It was some special deal that ended last week. I saw similar on other mountains. We booked direct with Sunday River.
Liftopia has a deal today, Stratton Trio, 189.00. Transferable and good on weekends and holidays. 62.00 per ticket. So, three friends could share. LOVE this deal! How is Stratton for snowboarding and how far from Boston?
$62/ticket really isn't that great of a deal. If you're already getting a season pass somewhere, Stratton is part of the M.A.X. Pass and you can do an Add-On for $299 (depending on your season pass) which gives you 5 tickets to 32 different mountains - Sunday River, Stratton, Sugarloaf, Killington, Wachusett, Loon and Okemo are all on there for New England places. If you can add it on for $299, if you use 10 of the tickets, it brings it down to $29.99/ticket which is a good deal.
I am still debating getting it, but not sure how to make it work since I'd need to get the Wachusett Gold Season Pass to make it a $299 Add-On and the Wachusett Gold Pass is an absolute rip-off at $569 compared to $269 for the Bronze Pass (7 nights, 5 days).
The full price for the M.A.X. Pass is $649, which makes it much less reasonable, but if you use the pass 20 times, you get $32.45/ticket which is still a great deal. You'd just have to commit to using it at the places listed or taking a trip to one of the places listed to make the price worth it.
To answer the rest of your question:
As for Stratton, I went once and the conditions weren't great, but we had fun and I enjoyed the mountain. It is close to Mt. Snow, so about the same drive from Boston.
Crotched Mt. has 3 pack for 129.00. We love CM as it has Midnight Madness, snowboard til 3 AM. I have made it to midnight and then hit the Onset Pub until 1. CM is a very cool sort of crunchy mountain that is mostly snowboarders. It's easy to park, easy to get to and really chill. We love Crotched Mt. Resort which is a few miles away. These deals are killing me.
I love the idea that they're open so late. We like to go to Wachusett at night since that is what we usually have free. It'd be nice to be able to go past 10pm on a Friday or Saturday night. I wish Crotched were closer so we'd have that option.
i have emailed Wachusett to ask them to stay open late weekends in Feb. and they were somewhat interested. Please email them. If they get a few requests they may try it? They did it once last year.
Just bought a few 20.00 early season tickets. Snowboard before Dec. 16 and pay 20.00. The sale ends today. We are hoping for a cold snap that allows us to get a few runs before we hit the Caribbean for the holidays. Why not? Positive focus.
Killington has a good deal, anytime no blackouts; 65 pp. I bought two. Not a huge fan of Killington but was invited up to hang with friends, President's Week. Will do first tracks for sure and try my best to avoid the masses.
Killington also does a 2 for 1 deal during the early season that is not advertised. There is no link on there website but if you google it you can find. It's a great way to get some early turns in.
I broke down and got a Wachusett Pass with the M.A.X. Pass Add-On. 5 tickets, no blackout dates to 38 different mountains with a bunch of them in New England.
Wachusett pass prices go up today, but if you're part of a club you have until November 16th. If anyone wants to join my group, feel free to send me a PM.
I forgot to mention - I have 2x Early Season Free Lift Tickets that we got from attending their Labor Day sale. I can double-check, but I believe they are good any day of the week until 12/23 (again, Early Season). If anyone wants 1 or 2 of them, just shoot me a PM. They are physical (paper) tickets/passes that are redeemable, so I'd just have to meet you at the mountain that day or mail them.
JC, I'd love a free Mt. Wachusett Pass for pre season. Or two?
