Searchers Looking for N.J. Skier Missing at Killington
Articles - News - Resorts Killington, VT - Rescuers are scouring the Vermont woods looking for a New Jersey man missing since Sunday while skiing at Killington Resort. Authorities say that Gustavo Oascar Iriarte, 45, of Lyndhurst, N.J., went missing on Sunday afternoon. Vermont State Police and Killington Ski Patrol were in contact with Iriarte by cell phone before they lost communication with him around 6:30 p.m. last night. Overnight temperatures in the area dipped below zero Fahrenheit. Separately, three other skiers who became lost were located near Pico Mountain ski area on Monday morning. |

Missing skier found after night in woods near Killington | The Burlington Free Press | Burlington, Vermont A skier from New Jersey who had been missing since Sunday was found unharmed Monday afternoon, the Vermont State Police said. Gustavo Oascar Iriarte, 45, of Lyndhurst was one of seven skiers who became lost Sunday in three incidents across the state. Nothing had been heard from Iriarte since about 6:30 p.m. Sunday until he was found on a snowmobile trail in Mendon at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. He told authorities he was fine except for cold toes and hands and was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for evaluation, police said. |
