So it looks like Belleayre is planning on opening on the 12th seems pretty early and pretty awesome. Any one from the Upstate area have any idea if this is likely. Do they normally open this soon?

Agreed, things started off to a strong start with the storm a few weeks ago. But, the next several weeks look like crap weather. I'm off work on the 21st and was hoping to make it up for the weekend in VT. Now I'm not so sure it'll be worth it.

i'm also waiting on this one. had a great season at Belleayre last year. hopefully it cools off and they can start blowing already!

i actually googled around and found some forum where someone said that this is a common occurence for belleayre in that they often promote themselves to be the first ones to open w/ disregard for the actual weather conditions, knowing that the date will only get pushed back, simply so that they will get their mountain name out there. Not certain if this is entirely accurate as I never been to Belleayre though.
