Man that sucks! When I started riding in the early 90's I saw someone drive up, walk to a board rack, take a board and leave. I was 11 or so at the time and didn't know he was stealing, then the kid comes back out of the chalet and says his board is gone!

Nevertheless I've locked up my board for the last 17+ years. Even if I'm just heading in to take a leak. If it leaves my sign it's locked. Call me paranoid but it's just too easy for assholes to steal shit and walk away.

Watch craigslist, kijiji, ebay, etc. I had a car stereo stolen about 10 years ago and checked everywhere but it never turned up. Good luck cross your fingers!

Are you going to beat them or stab them? Good luck seeing them do it anyways.

As for the cable locks, I really dislike them. Might as well lock my board up with yarn because all those locks do is attempt to look secure so that people will just move on to the next board. Anyone with a leather man can cut through one of those cable locks in about 2 seconds. On my last trip our buddy locked all 3 of our boards together and his lock would simply not open. I ended up clipping the wire like it was nothing and no one around us (easily 50 people) did not even ask if they were our boards we were cutting the lock off of.

Oh man that sucks! I've got a spare board I could loan you, to bad you couldn't get something used to at least save your season. I know my board is covered by my house insurance... Might be something to look into.

Sorry to hear of the theft. I just gave a friend's son my old 158W Deuce and with Missions last week. I would have sent it off for shipping.

FWIW, I use a combination bike cable lock. 1st stop is to put the lock on a rack so I don't have to carry it around.
