My girl and I live in Woodside and go to Creek almost every Saturday. We always have to empty seats in the rental car which seems like a waste.

Just wondering. Hit me up.

I live in Long Island City and try to get out to Mt. Creek as often as possible. Haven't gone this year yet b/c of the weather, but hope to get out there and check out the new lodge in the next couple of weeks. I usually drive out there too, but it would make sense to join forces.

Went ice skating at creek on Sunday. Almost broke my neck like 3 fuckin times! I saw a few people get slammed hard.

One hot ass asian girl almost got her head chopped off on Vernon. One of those asshole SB racer dudes (big dude too) was flying and she fell rt in front of him but he ollie'd and managed to get out of her way. Amazing move by the way but his board was aiming right for her head doing like 12mph. She doesnt know how lucky she was.

Another dude got a serious head injury AND THE DUDE WAS WEARING A HELMET!!! He smashed his head on the ice real hard. I think he prob went to the hospital. He didnt look good at all. He wouldnt respond to anyone, just holding his head and writhing.

They has the snow guns blowing all day right in your face so you couldnt really tell where the icy spots were because they were covered up a little. The best part is picking the ice out of your neck at the bottom of the hill from the snow guns blowing right on you and the rash on my neck right now hurts like a motha! They were giving free lift tix for Sun because Sat was so bad. The people that were there on Sun said it was much better than Sat??? Huh??? Sun was horrible so i cant even fathom how bad Sat must have been.

Think im gonna take a week or 2 off. Huge waste of $. Only good thing is they werent scanning peoples tix at the lift so we rode for free 'cause we got triple play cards.

I know personally of 4 people that sustained concussions wearing helmets. Think of how bad it would be without one, though.....

Hi all,
I am planing to go mt creek on Monday to enjoy the weekday riding.
But from the weather report, it seems the weather will get warmer since sunday, and the high of monday will hit around 50F.

Does anyone have idea how the condition may be? Will it be like slush or it will be still icy and plus it is melting so the condition will be worse than normal icy.....

thanks

if it warms up to 50 it will probably be ok.. some spots in shade might be sketch but most of the mountain will soften up some. I'm sure Saturday was especially bad because we got a ton of rain in NJ into Friday early AM then the temps started to plummet... that plus crowds on a holiday weekend = schit show.

Mountain Creek was my home mountain for decades... I even went there when it was called Vernon Valley (or some shit like that).

I finally grew tired of the endless beginners clogging up the mountain. I thought a dedicated South would fix it, but thats still clogged up with beginners. The just love sitting in the middle of runs or bottom of jumps.

Now I go to Hunter. If you stick to the Hunter West black diamonds, its totally empty including the new high speed quad which is deserted. Its worth the extra hour drive for me.

i was up at creek yesterday, conditions were good until about 4 pm. i left right before that but a buddy stayed later and said it went to straight shit right after all the school kids showed up. Solid setup for how bad this year has been though. nothing big though unfortunately.

also if those buses don't work with your schedule there are private bus lines (Lakeland and Martz) as well as NJ Transit (via train) that will take you into western Morris County (or farther via the private buses). The midtown direct trains run from NY Penn to Dover which is exit 36 off Rt 80 so about an hour and change from say Camelback and straight up Rt 15 to Mt Creek (about 40 mins).

i figured they'd be closing soon. so thats gonna be almost 2 full triple play cards in the garbage. sucks. vernon has only been open till 5 the last few times i looked at the site so i knew theyd be closing soon. it kinda sucks that they dont offer any discount or refund if you dont use a triple play card. they offer it on season passes...

conditions werent that bad when i went like 2 weeks ago but the rocks and mud coming thru the base was really annoying.
