Carinthia Parks @ Mount Snow - Snowboarding Forum

So stoked to hit up Mount Snow this weekend. Any recommendations for food, trails, local bars?

Does Carinthia have any beginner trails? I am still a noob when it comes to the park. After searching, it looks like Grommet and Nitro are the 2 beginner trails that I should hit up.

What about a good place to eat at night? I'll be staying at the Snow Lake Lodge.

i'll be up there this weekend also. Nitro is fairly good, stay right and there's some smaller features when the trail forks. There's a place by the post office on rte 100, forget the name but it has good burgers. There's a 7-11 on RTE 100 just south of the resort by a mile that has all the grocery stuff, coffee and booze you need.

Fiddleheads is also good, but that place gets packed on the weekends.

i moved out to south lake tahoe this winter so i haven't been around mt snow so i'm not sure what the trails are like but pretty much grommet is usually the xs park with a bunch of smaller ride on boxes and rails, possibly a small urban sometimes. nitro is a good medium park that can have features that are both on the smaller and bigger side, then like cheese said if you stay right when it forks that turns into a small medium park.

as for food if you're talking about a place to get shit to cook you'd be better off going to snow mtn market thats down route 100 from Mt Snow going towards wilmington, its maybe a min tops on your right hand side after you pull out of the mt snow entrance. in the same area there's a snowboard shop called invasion which you should check out as well, my friend pete owns that place and is super cool.

a couple bars around the area the people like to go to are dover bar and grill(or D-BAGs as people call it) which also happens to be in the same area as the snow mtn market and invasion, across the street from there is a bar/restaurant called The Silo, then down 100 about 2 miles from there on your right is a place called The Saloon that has some decent food and a bar with pool table.

If you are looking to go out at nighttime def hit up the Silo. As for the mountain, just find a run that has features your comfortable with. If you end up riding "The Gulch" ride the Heavy Metal chair. Almost never a line and it gets the job done speed wise. Also, get a waffle on the mountain. Seriously, waffle.

Thanks guys. I had a good time this weekend even though it was really icy. We started out with a few warmup runs on Grommet and then spent most of our time on Nitro. The waffle cabin was clutch. They were so good I had to have 2 both days.
