End of the season?

The forecast is absolutely horrendous.
Starting tomorrow it's supposed to be a lot warmer (50+) in NY, and Vermont isn't doing much better. The extended forecast for next week calls for more of the same with some temps in the 60s.
I could see resorts closing early or am I being overly pessimistic?

Hopefully things remain ok out west and I can squeeze a 3-4 day trip before it gets bad.

Horrible here in MN too. It hit 57F here today, I think the previous record was only like in the 40s. We had a couple decent snowfalls in the last couple weeks, but it will all be gone by end of this week with these temps in the 40s and 50s all week.

I think the only place that will stay open here is Lutsen way up north, hopefully until end of March, although they say they are 'guaranteed' to stay open through April 15.

Hoping there is any sign of snow left by the time my trip to Big Sky & Jackson Hole rolls around.

yeah dude we're about done for in Michigan, too. I was up north(4hrs away) this past weekend and we got hammered on Friday with 15"+ but everything south of there it is going to be 50-60F this week. Cooling off a tad next week but that won't help.

We already had one hill close due to lack of turnout (secretly I think it was also because their conditions were absolute shit 2 or 3 weeks ago while the other local hills were better maintained). Right now the others are open but I would not be surprised if they close for the rest of the week and hopefully re-open on Saturday & Sunday. I'll be surprised if any of them last longer than 3/11.

The up north resorts will last until April 1st or so based on their existing base & that last dump but unfortunately I can't get up there any more this season.

been rough here too, my guess is that the big 3 mountains in maine, sugarloaf, sadleback and sunday river will be open until april, but not much longer, as for the small mountains, who the hell knows, I'm going this weekend to the small mountain I usually ride at and fully expect that this will be the last time I'll be able to ride there this winter. been such a shitty season.

Dont worry CO is melting too, with 5 +40 days for Dillon and Breck in the 10 day forecast, with nothing but a couple inches of snow in the forecast.

Everyone keeps saying how we are gonna get dumped on...well we might, but its March, shit is melting, nothing on the forecast, I'll get 20 or more days in still but wtfever I'm over the season.

I have three days booked at Mt Snow next weekend, then ski patrol tryouts at HV on the 18th. I am not sure if I can even get those in. I had to go to NoVA for work this week and missed the weekend at HV. Wife went and said it was good, but icy. Crossing my appendages that we will get some good mountain time in next week. I mean, really, how much snow can melt in the next 7 days?

This whole week is in the 40s, and the last weekend my local hills will be open this Sat & Sun, it's supposed to be 55-60 degrees! Lol this has been such a sad excuse for winter. Officially the 3rd warmest winter ever on record in Minnesota at least.

Hoping I can make it for a weekend up north to Lutsen, but even there it's supposed to be in the 40s next week. WTF?

thats it for me this season. i'm going away next weekend and i doubt anyplace in the poconos is going to be open much after that. i hit up blue today and it was fun but the coverage is definitely getting worse. it looks like they're loosing snow fast.

the conditions were decent today, a lot better than i thought they would be. it was slushy in areas but not too bad and the park was fun for awhile before it got crowded and washed away. you would go over a feature and look up and see a wall of like 30-40 kids. most of who wanted to sit in front of the feature or sit down in the landing.

i did see some funny shit though. right after the lift, two skiiers got fouled up and one of them launched atleast 10 feat into the woods. he literally went flying into the woods ass first with his skis above his head. he wasnt hurt so i laughed my ass off

they also had a big air comp that i saw...it was pretty sick, kids were throwing double corks into a very unforgiving landing. i dont know if i'll ever have the balls to try something like that. there were some ugly falls

cant wait for next year, hopefully i'll be in vermont and new hampshire if i can manage to move finally.

I'm headed up to Maine this weekend for 2 days at Sunday River. Forecast is calling for 50+ as well. Gonna look to make the best of it. Pray the wind chill makes it feel colder. Slow the melting a bit. But this season is pretty much done.
Starting to prep for my spring hobbies

I feel ya. This winter wasnt anything at all and now it seems like we are going to skip spring and head right into summer. I think its going to be a long time till we see winters like we had over the past two years. To top it off the local weatherman was giddy all winter while predicting warmer temps it made me want to punch him in the face. If he likes warm winters he should move to florida. F him. F this shitty winter, and F this hot summer coming up! Glad I didnt get talked into buyin a season pass though...

Three spectacular days at Mt Snow, although friday was pouring rain for part of it. Saturday was awesome but it was clear that the warm temps and sun and rain were crushing the base. We had to come back Saturday night anyway, but got in 5 hours this morning at Holiday Valley in NY for their closing day. Really sad that the season got cut short like it did for the ice coast, but spring always comes.

You might have seen the pics I posted in the thread "Why?"....can't I hit boxes. Well I did, and those pics were taken 4 days ago. It is now raining tonight, and like I said, I really wish I had done more earlier this season, but Austria is also coming to a rapid close. What with around 800km, some 250 odd lifts rides over 35 days, I think I've done well. So now the missus and I have booked flights to the south of Spain in early May, going to sit on the beach and reminisce about a short, but excellent winter season.
