My girlfriend and I have a trip planned for Jan 6-12 to go to both places because, with our college schedules, that's the only time we can go together. I was wondering how good the glades are during that time of year. Is there usually a decent amount of powder? Are they open? I saw a video on YouTube from Jan 4, 2011 and they said they didn't have footage of the glades since they weren't open (could be them making up excuses for not being good enough for glades though).

I've been to Jay twice, but both times were in March. 1st time, it was kick ass and the snow was so nice I learned backflips. 2nd time, I took my girlfriend and we ended up snowboarding melted out glades (which was fun... but tiring). We're looking for something close to those nice powdery conditions I had the first time I went because she's never experience true powder.

*I understand that March (with the exception of last year) probably usually has the most coverage because it's holding all of the season's snowfall, but yea
