Don't plan on getting a season pass anywhere this season. But, just bought a Big Lift Card for Hunter.
Now I've got my card and my gear is ready to go...now just need snow.
BTW, if anyone else is considering the big lift card at Hunter, if you buy before 11/18 your card comes loaded with 1 lift ticket for $50 or 2 lift tickets for $90.
Hopefully I'll make it worth purchasing this year... I only got to use it one time last year, making for a $270 lift ticket . I ended up going to Killington a bunch of times because of the better conditions + friends always prefer going there.
I'll be getting my Instructor Pass for Snoqualmie again. This means I will ride the shit out of Snocrummie everyday that I can, and make a bunch of trips to other resorts cause they're so much better. LoL!
Well I'm in the pnw and getting my pass at Baker. But talk out here is that ya'll all might get some this year and here we'll only get our average 600 inches.
LuckyRVA, you ever do bus trips from Emilo's in Forrest Hills? I'm from LI but did a few weekday trips with them last year. Hopefully I'll get more in this year.
No I never have. I meant to do some trips with them last season since I'm pretty close to them.
I plan on doing a few VT trips with them this year for sure.
Im down in MD and definitely not getting a season pass this year. NE had it tough, further down plain blew! I'll get a discount card for my local mountains and do some more travelling this year.
Edit: oops. Didn't see this was regional... sorry to jack your thread
There is this limited edition secret pass in MI that nobody knows about, they only make about 100 of them each year. It is a no-blackout-dates season pass valid at 20+ resorts in the state; it includes 2 of the 3 local dirt hills I ride frequently, as well as some of the bigger resorts up north.
I had already purchased a pass to Crystal Mountain when I found out about it, but at $550 for 20 resorts it was a no-brainer. I would've paid that much just for the 2 hills near my house.
Bonus: the top-secret-pass is "transferrable" at all but one or two resorts, so when I do ride at Crystal, I can let my wife or my nephew use it.
Hell yeah I hear that! 199 dollar weekday season pass. Includes after 3 pm on weekends. But who wants to be there on weekends anyway way too crowded. This will be my 3 season riding so any mountain will do. Especially a good priced one!
Picked up a college pass for Wachusett last week, but I'm going to upgrade to the silver pass for $100's more this week. The only difference is, is thats it's pretty much a gold pass during the pre season and late season.
I'm also getting the three mountain pass to Loon, SundayRiver and SugarLoaf as soon as the college pass goes on sale, which I think is in November. I'll mostly be using it for Loon, probably will only make it out to SR and SL once or twice this season.
 I usually get the bronze pass at Wachusett, though last season I sprung for the silver, but the season was so short it was barely worth the upgrade. I may just go for the bronze again.
For weekend trips, I like to keep my options open so I don't go to any specific mountain enough to justify another pass.
I'm trying to figure out the best play... especially with liftopia involved.
Likely rolling with a BLC for Hunter with one lift tix loaded..
Then for Camelback, probably buy a triple play, but the camelcard is interesting.. basically pays for itself if you use it twice to get a third ticket free...
Creek I was just planning to use liftopia... but at 79 bucks for their triple play its also enticing.
The question then is if 6+ days at Camelback and 3 days at Creek realistic.. on top of at least 2 days at hunter and probably a trip or two to Elk. That's a lot of local riding for me with a few non-local trips planned.
I haven't thought the passes for NE resorts have been worth it since American Skiing Company sold off its assets. Then again, I live about 2.5 hours from the nearest good resort, which means it is packed with weekend warriors like myself all winter. However, if I lived more centrally to the slopes I probably would consider the New England Pass or a Stowe pass. The Crotched Mountian Midnight Madness pass isn't bad either, so long as it's a good snow year...
That is my plan. I am still new and have only been to Vermont for a look at good snow. Otherwise Mostly PA riding is what I have done. My plan is to just keep riding anywhere that has snow and take a big trip out to either Tahoe or maybe somewhere in Co or Utah when I get better.
I'm in the Mid-West and my local hill is a huge Chicago bus trip destination. So very small hill to start with, big crowds, and we can have very if'y conditions. I started riding 3 years ago at 42yr, and progressed quite well. Having fun just to be riding, there were days we bailed do to conditions but never crowds. Like I said would rather ride 6 of 7 days a week at times then 6 times a year at a good-great resort. I was able to get 30+ days on the hill last season even with our shitty winter we had.
You have a good plan, ride and get better and enjoy a real trip somewhere doesn't need to be cross country. We have traveled to much better resorts roughly 3 hour one way trip and had a blast. Wish I could afford out west but we try to take several local day trips to some of the better hills that we can get to.
I'll be buying a college pass (works for grad school...) for Sugarloaf and possibly a week college pass at Jackson Hole if my friend lets me crash out there... Other than that, some tickets at Camelback or Elk mountain in PA.
