Ok so last year I was mainly riding at Blue (PA) and Belleayre Mountain. This year since I need to stay close by plus I need to save some money, I decided to buy a weekday pass (only 199)to Camelback. I am just curious of what to expect since I have never been there. What are good times to go, are the crowds mainly on the super easy hills... how is
You can take another lift and walk a little. It's actually a good thing. $10 for the whole year, and when the lines are backed up it is usually pretty open.
Yes you do need a park pass in addition to a reg lift ticket. I think it's like 10 bucks extra tho. I went for the 1st time on MLK weekend. It was a madhouse but as stated before for that amount of people, the handle it well. I will say in the evening they start to close certain lifts which forces a convergence of riders onto the same trails. I did one night run and left, trails were over crowded. Other than that, no complaints at all. I will be revisiting!
yup it's 10 bucks extra i was going there, somebody actually stopped me, that was a bit weird, asked for a pass or something, i was like `here` he goes no this is extra....
along with mountain creek, camelback is one of the smallest mountains we have here
last week sunday i was there it snowed a lot that day so that was good but man camelback's runs are so short, you get down in like two seconds... i always found that to be annoying especially if you don't have patience like me
Might go tomorrow (Wed)to camelback. I will be the bearded guy, black pants green and black jacket with an arbor woodgrain board and green lettering on the base. I am always looking for pointers to improve my riding so if you see me say whats up.

Yeah, the runs there are pretty short but they get the job done. I usually stick to PA resorts. I'm working my way up. Started off going to whitetail & liberty, which has limited trails. Whitetail has 25 & liberty has 22. Camelback has 33, but I think my next visit will be to blue mtn, which is the highest vertical drop in PA.
However, I will say I had a blast at Camelback and it is def my fav thus far!
Enjoy Camelback and Blue while you can. Because honestly once you venture out of the PA resorts and hit up VT or Maine you wont want to go back. Not dissing Camelback, because I like the PA spots too, but you will be talking about going from 33 trails with a 800 ft vertical drop to 90-115+ trails with 2000+ ft vertical drops
So here is the question of the day. Do I go tomorrow (Presidents' Day) knowing that it will flooded with people? Or is it not so bad in the morning. I know it is suppose to be pretty chilly tomorrow and thinking many parents will just stay home. What do you all think?
I went this past weekend. Saturday was packed, but the right half had "less" than the left. Saturday was very icy, but i guess they blew snow for sunday. Sunday had somewhat less people.
I was there yesterday.. the conditions were pretty fantastic. Early it was empty, was there right at 8:30 and got a ton of runs in before taking an early lunch. Was a bit crowded in the afternoon and started to get skied off some but was still solid.
Asp was real fun, they most have blown snow on it after grooming so it was a poor mans version of a few inches of powder. They were seeding moguls on rocket so it was nice and soft and ungroomed which I found fun.
I might be going tomorrow (Wed the 20th) and the next day (Thurs). If anyone is there and wants to meet up and maybe help me with some riding and give me feedback I would appreciate it. I have a park pass so I can go there too. Thanks!
i go to camelback pretty often. i don't have a season pass but i bought the "camel card" discount card. 25% off on weekend and holidays...50% off weekdays and every third ticket is FREE. great deal at $50.
i'm always down to ride mondays. let me know, i'll meet up with you guys!
Icy in the morning. Closer to the afternoon got really soft. As the snow got pushed around it made for a fun choppy ride. But it was never really watery snow. Should be the same for tomorrow. Have fun and let me know what you experienced.
So I might be going this Friday too. I also might be meeting up with friends so just let me know if you want to meet up. The season in PA is almost done  so sad
thanksfor the heads up tony. got there round 11 and things were just starting to get good.not alot of grooming but the park had a fresh groom with a fun jump line that was new. might be up friday too, have to see.
Nice good to hear that it was a decent day for you!
So this is a question to anyone out there. How hard is Cliffhanger? It looks like a nice long run but I haven't tried it. I guess because I am not sure what to expect and I am still a progressing rider. Is it really that hard? Can you compare it too another trail or parts of it? Let me know what to expect.
yeah i think im going to be there friday, and if you're there, you're definitely coming down cliffhanger with me
you shouldnt have a problem skillwise with it, its just a little nerve racking when you havent done anything that steep before but after your first time you'll wonder why you didnt try it earlier
i'll probably be there early, so shoot me a text at whatever time if you want to meet up
I found cheap camalback lift tickets on ebay. I don't know the seller but I bought one for my wife, since I have a season pass. The seller says I should have it by next week. Check it out he is offering them for 30 bucks. Not bad...Camelback Mountain Lift Ticket | eBay
Oh and I bought a 2013-2014 Value Pass again, you can't beat that price of 199.
They say they're going to be open thru April 6.....how is it up there lately? Boulder is still kicking weekends now. Friday was so-so at Frost (closed Sunday), and still pretty good at BB.
Thinking about Camelback's cheap pass this year. My unlimited at JFBB this year was....not that great of a deal.:dunno:
I'm thinking of going Wednesday for a few laps before all of the snow is completely gone. I know I can't go this weekend cause my gfs birthday is Thursday and were hitting Mohegan SUn for the weekend. Then I'm holding out hope for one last day at Hunter unless it stays warm like this. If anyone is planning on going on Wednesday lmk.. If you go before, tell us how the conditions are !
Will do but I am sure the report will be, soft melted stuff and lots of rocks.. haha either way it might be my last time out for the season. I think you might have better luck at Hunter but I am not sure.
EDIT Never mind turns out I can't go. Oh well.
