So disturbing... 22 kids were also slashed/stabbed today at an elementary school in China by a 36 year old with a knife. It's not a gun issue, it's a crazy people issue

last update is 20 kids dead. on nbc they are saying they might of got the name of the killer wronge. then something about his brother being dead too. i really dont know what is going on.
even if we do make all guns illegal that still won't keep them off the streets and in peoples hands. just like drugs and other shit like that. |

Not that I am really for guns be outlawed. That's stupid. Too many legitimate uses. Some of these larger caliber, just for killing guns aren't really all that necessary either. |

My heart goes out to those families affected by this senseless shooting. It shows a need in this country to discover what is leading to people making these decisions that are contrary to normal everyday life. I hate to think that people are going to say that gun control is needed. I want to remind everyone there having been tragedies in the US with multiple deaths that didn't involve a gun. Fire, spiked Flavor-Aid, vehicles, and explosives have all been used to end life. I believe society faces a value crises. I'm not saying teaching students religious values, but common-sense life lessons. How to deal with loss, make decisions that don't limit survival, seek help, etc. I believe the disconnect that society has due to a decrease in human to human interaction makes it easier to jump that line from fantasy to enacting out in reality. So take the time to reflect how you interact with others both through technology and not. Might be a kind word here or there might make a difference. Not tearing people down or belittling a person could make the difference.

Unbelievable. Fuck, this shit makes my head hurt. I am a high school teacher and after this kind of shit goes down it seriously makes me think really hard about leaving the profession. It happens far too frequently The bottom line is our schools are not at all secure. How in the hell did this fucktard manage to get into the elementary school in the first place? The answer is simple, people come and go as they please in a vast majority of schools and no one is ever searched. I mean, you pass through a metal detector to get into any government building in the country, but why not schools? It's fucking ridiculous.
