You really think that some guy is planning to shoot up a bunch of people, so he goes out and gets his concealed carry permit first? Hell no, he just goes and shoots a bunch of people. I really don't understand how people think that by making it illegal to do "xxxxx" it will stop criminals from doing "xxxxxx". Last time i checked, killing people is illegal, so why are they still doing it since its illegal
I really don't want to turn this into a political debate but +1. I spent 27 years living (born and raised) in the City of Chicago where up until a year ago it was illegal to own a handgun, (still no CC) yet they are the murder capital of the country with the majority of those murders committed by handgun violence. Criminals are criminals because they don't follow the law...

Fire, spiked Flavor-Aid, vehicles, and explosives have all been used to end life. I believe society faces a value crises. I'm not saying teaching students religious values, but common-sense life lessons. How to deal with loss, make decisions that don't limit survival, seek help, etc. I believe the disconnect that society has due to a decrease in human to human interaction makes it easier to jump that line from fantasy to enacting out in reality. So take the time to reflect how you interact with others both through technology and not. Might be a kind word here or there might make a difference. Not tearing people down or belittling a person could make the difference.
Nice post and i agree completely.

+2 to what you guys said. To the person that said you cant grow guys: you are right, but you can pay a machinist to make one.

Prime examples of why outlawing guns doesn't work are Toronto and Chicago.

Not that I am really for guns be outlawed. That's stupid. Too many legitimate uses. Some of these larger caliber, just for killing guns aren't really all that necessary either.
Are you sure about that?

Zero mass shootings? Yeah no impact. Sorry but that is a bullshit article. That article claims gun violence didn't drop there, but has no statistics about what gun violence they had. Just other crimes not related to gun violence. I'm sure the gun ban had everything to do with that rise. Well probably, because criminals now couldn't go out and shoot people, they had to find other outlets...

I just heard about this at my school today and that was the first thing through my head. Who would do this?! And right after our principal talked about it (we were in an asembly) these kids, like I see them do it alot, were like bulkying/teasing this kid that obiously is not mentaly stable, I felt bad for him but when you talk to him he just gets REALLY mad right away! Just shows how mean people are these days. R.I.P. to all of those poor kids and prayers for the families.

Did you read your article? Let me quote it for you,

"So there’s no consensus about whether the changes decreased gun violence or had little to no effect. "

The article I posted included sources, and includes general violent crimes including rape, not just homicide.

An armed society is a polite society.

It also says
Quote:
Have murders increased since the gun law change, as claimed? Actually, Australian crime statistics show a marked decrease in homicides since the gun law change. According to the Australian Institute of Criminology, a government agency, the number of homicides in Australia did increase slightly in 1997 and peaked in 1999, but has since declined to the lowest number on record in 2007, the most recent year for which official figures are available.
